About

Welcome to the TeachFactory website.  I decided to call my blog TeachFactory because a factory is a busy place where production is constantly going on.  This reminds me of a classroom.   It’s busy, it requires teamwork, and things never stop moving!    I love getting emails from other teachers and discussing all things teaching!  I have been teaching for 8 years and currently teach (and love!) gifted education.    You can take a tour of our classroom here.   I love spending time with my husband and daughter, traveling (especially to Walt Disney World!), and photography.

I have always loved creating items with the computer and can remember using PrintShop for the first time in fifth grade to make a greeting card.  Back then, the printers were the dot-matrix kind that go back and forth creating little squares of black, white, and grey.  Wow, things sure have come a long way!    Now I create everything with Adobe PhotoShop CS4 and just have fun with it!  I’ve done a little freelance design work and enjoyed it, but my heart belongs in the classroom!

Thanks for stopping by my blog!  Please leave a comment and let me know you were here!

~Happy Teaching!~

Thanks so much for your stuff! I was wondering – is there a way to make your pictures clip art? I’m using the “outerspace owls” theme (so cute!), and I’d love to use the astronauts and rockets as part of some SmartBoard lessons. I can only save the whole page of icons, and I would love to use each separately. Let me know, thanks!
